The Shedd farm has been under steady use for three generations, but Rodney and Tiffany Shedd may be forced to let their fertile land turn to dust. Starting in 2020, significant cuts to water allocations from the Colorado River are expected. In fact, by 2026, due to a bureaucratic preference for allocating water to new housing developments, 200 Pinal county farmers will have to fallow up to 40 percent of their lands.
